Some disaster and some success!

Using the great tut from http://handyprojects.blogspot.com/2005/04/how-to-make-easy-kids-pants.html I decided to make Kai some track pants from some remnant fabric I had picked up from spotlight. So I trace around some other pants and sew them up and ARGH they are too low in the rise and if he bends over, well you get the idea. They are only just long enough too.

So spent some time yesterday drafting a new pattern, this afternoon cutting it all out and then this evening sewing them up again! Much happier with this pair but he is asleep so can't take action pics till tomorrow. I will have to unpick the other pair and put a waist band on them and that might give Lil some wear out of them.

So if this one fits Kai I will make one more pair just in the flannelette sun material as I have heaps of it! I think I will have enough to make matching pj's for all of us. hehe With a bigger rise I think the others are a perfect size for Lil. More experimenting and learning to do.

I also cut out another dress that I redrafted yesterday for Lil. Will start sewing that up in the next couple of days. Used this as a guide: http://www.make-baby-stuff.com/free-baby-clothes-patterns.html
